Hello, I'm Birgit!

I'm 33 years old and live in the Mühlviertel region of Upper Austria. Travelling is a great passion of mine — especially with my VW T3 camper van and my dog, Almond, with whom I enjoy spending time outdoors. The freedom and tranquility of the road are a valuable source of inspiration and balance for me.

About me

I'm a yoga teacher and also work in the film industry as a production coordinator, set manager, and green film consultant. My daily work is intense and challenging, characterized by hectic shooting days and complex tasks. To stay balanced in this stressful and dynamic environment, I discovered yoga.

For me, yoga is not just a physical practice, but a valuable tool for bringing more structure, mindfulness, and awareness into my life. It helps me to ground myself and stay present in the midst of hectic everyday life. Health, mobility, physical and mental strength, as well as balance are essential values for me, which I pursue both on and off the mat. Yoga supports me in promoting my physical and mental well-being and gives me the energy and serenity I need to master my professional challenges while leading a healthy, fulfilling life.

In practice, I can connect with my body, strive to be playful yet focused, and thus find the balance I need for my well-being. With my yoga classes, I want to help others find this balance as well—be it through gentle movements, powerful asanas, or meditation that create space for inner peace.

My yoga experiences

My journey with yoga began in my early 20s, when I first entered a studio and discovered the practice. Back then, I viewed yoga primarily as a way to balance my daily routine. During my master's degree in Birmingham, England, I regularly incorporated Ashtanga Yoga into my weekly schedule. I found it a valuable way to clear my head and harmonise my body and mind.

Later, when I moved back to Austria, I discovered hot yoga. This practice fascinated me because it challenged me in a completely new way. I was particularly excited about using the breath as a tool to regulate my circulatory system. This experience opened my eyes to the deeper connection between body and mind. Another highlight of my yoga journey was New Year's Eve 2019, when I practiced 108 Sun Salutations for the first time to end the year. This experience was so powerful that it became an annual tradition.

In August and September 2021, I deepened my practice and knowledge by completing the 200-hour training with Joan Hyman - The School of Yoga, in Vienna at the Yoga Studio "Yoga Kula". This training laid the foundation for my work as a yoga teacher and opened doors for a deeper exploration of yoga. Since I love to continually learn and discover new aspects of yoga, I have since participated in further training courses and workshops. This year, I aim to complete the 300-hour training and receive my 500-hour certificate.
